Skate Sarnia
Dedicated to the healthy development of children, youth and adults through participation in skating.
PROGRAMS
PRE-CANSKATE
Geared towards beginners (age 3-5) with little or no experience, this learn-to-skate program is focused on fun & participation in age appropriate activities. This program is taught by a Professional Coach, aided by trained Volunteer Program Assistants.

Two sessions available on Sundays.

Two
CANSKATE
This program is for children ages 5 and up who have little experience. Skaters are organized into ability appropriate groups to develop fundamental skating skills, as defined by CanSkate Stages 1 through 3. Skaters may progress to the next level during the season through regular on-session testing. This program is taught by a Professional Coach, aided by trained Volunteer Program Assistants.

Skaters can register for one session per week or two sessions per week on Sundays and/or Thursdays.
ADVANCED
CANSKATE
This program is for skaters who have passed CanSkate Stage 3. Skaters in Stage 4 through 6 have the opportunity to continue to develop fundamental figure skating skills. This program is taught by a Professional Coach, aided by trained Volunteer Program Assistants.

Skaters can register for one or two sessions per week on Sundays and/or Tuesdays.
STAR 1 to GOLD
Skaters must have completed CANSkate Stage 6 and have a professional coach for these sessions, which offer opportunities to develop stronger figure skating skills in ice dance, free skate & interpretive skate. Our professional coaches offer instruction in group &/or private lessons. Skaters have the opportunity to take nationally standardized Skate Canada tests.

Skaters work with private coaches to determine the appropriate amount of ice time per week. Sessions are offered Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

POWER SKATING
This high energy instructional program is geared to hockey and ringette skaters ages 6 & up who already possess basic skating skills. Skaters are organized by ability to focus on balance, power, agility, speed & endurance. Skills & conditioning drills are taught in a format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. This program is taught by a Professional Coach, aided by trained Volunteer Program Assistants.

There are two sessions available (based on age and skill level) on Wednesdays.
